Forbidden Rice Sheng Pu'er (紫禁米生普洱茶, Zǐ Jìn Mǐ Shēng Pǔ'ěr Chá, "Purple Forbidden Rice") - Li Shulin, our Yunnan tea farmer, in always innovating and experimenting. One of the benefits of our longstanding relationship with him is that we get to sample some of these experiments before he's begun producing them at scale. This past summer he sent us a surprising twist on his classic Sticky Rice Sheng using Purple Grace as the base. The sweet, toasted grain profile of the 糯米香草 ("Sticky Rice Herb") pair with the crisp berry notes of the purple sheng pu'er to produce an altogether unique experience, reminiscent of fruity pebbles. Like our Purple Grace sheng, it maintains a purple color that brings a distinctive purple cast to the infusion.

Before checking out my Favorite sticky rice shu I had the option to add this forbidden rice to check out~ and when received, I opening the packaging to the smell of heaven. This tea tastes amazing, it’s sweet, it’s everything you must try!
