Royal Crown (王冠, Wáng Guàn, "Royal Crown") - Royal Crown is an Yi Ya Yi Ye 一芽一叶 “one bud one leaf" sun-dried red tea from Man Le, Yunnan. The tea plants of Man Le grow in the understory of the pine forest, giving them a crisp and sweet character. Here, one bud one leaf refers to the plucking standard - one leaf bud and one leaf comprises a "set". The buds are covered with downy golden hairs, and the leaves are dark and slightly larger. These bud-heavy teas can only be harvested in early spring. The resulting tea is lighter, softer, brighter, and more fragrant than leafier grades.
