2011 Secret Springs Sheng Pu'er (秘泉生普洱, Mì Quán Shēng Pǔ'ěr, "Secret Spring Sheng Pu'er") - At a decade plus, this cake maintains some of the floral notes of fresh Sheng while being overall balanced and woody. We named it Secret Spring in honor of a swimming hole located in the Austin Greenbelt. The combination of springwater, wood, leaves, and earth makes the actual Secret Springs smell a lot like this tea. This is one of several Nannuo Mountain Sheng Pu'er that our tea farmer Li Shulin sourced for us to replace the aged Sheng Pu'ers that he lost in a fire.

Vibrant, spirited
This has a pleasant bite to it without coming across as astringent. There's a mineral component and a mild earthiness to this that makes it very enjoyable for many steeps. It evolves over time without the taste changing too drastically in any direction, and peters off in to a soft, juicy earthiness. I really enjoy this, and I feel it shows some good potential for some further storage, if you're in to that sort of thing.
