Medium Siting Yixing Teapot (思亭宜興胡, Sītíng Yíxìng Hú, "Siting Yixing Teapot") - This 130 milliliter teapot is made from the highly-sought-after and now-rare Zhuni 朱泥 or "crimson clay" of Yixing. The Siting pot, named for its creator, is an elegant pear-shaped form with a wide base and a small mouth. Half-handmade from Yixing Zhuni, this pot will continue to absorb the flavor and fragrance of any tea made in it. Because of that, Siting pots, like all Yixing teapots, are traditionally dedicated to a single tea or category of teas. This teapot features an exceptional crisp pour and the characteristic "ringing" tone that is associated with authentic Zhuni clay.
Produced for the Taiwanese market by a Taiwanese teapot merchant who is married to a Yixing native, this pot is one of the finest examples of Yixing teapots brought back in this particular batch by our friend Nathan Davis from his recent trip to Taiwan. The exceptional quality of both the clay and the craftsmanship set this pot, and its larger sister pot, apart from the rest.
