Guifei Red (貴妃紅茶, Guìfēi Hóng Chá, "Precious Consort Red Tea") Guifei is a small-leaf red tea from Duyun, Guizhou. Guifei is a term meaning Precious Consort and it was a title conferred on the highest-ranking imperial concubine. The term often refers to the Tang dynasty Daoist nun Yang Guifei, who was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong and one of the Four Beauties of Ancient China. She was known for her full figure and fondness for lychee, which the emperor would have transported on ice for her from Southern China.

As with all of our Guizhou teas, this elegant red tea has a unique character. The fragrance of the hot leaves has notes of charcoal roasted chestnut, warm cedar wood, and cherry on the exhale. The fragrance of the empty cup carries the aroma of caramel, cotton candy, and cooked fruit. The liquor is clear and a beautiful amber hue.
