Red Eagle (老鹰红茶, Lǎo Yīng Hóng Chá, “Eagle Red Tea”) - Litsea coreana var. lanuginose, known in English as Hawk tea or Eagle tea, is a Chinese medicinal herb known for its cooling properties. It is harvested wild and consumed in Western China including Sichuan province, where this herbal tea is from. It is frequently consumed in the summer to cool the body and remove dampness, and is processed into a fully-oxidized form using the same methods as red tea. The leaves are a charming red color and yield a chocolatey, slightly smoky infusion with a viscous body and full, sweet flavor.
