Thrice Haunted Plum (三次尋梅红茶）is Master Lan’s most recent experiment. As a fan of the Mei Zhan oolong cultivar, Lan traveled to multiple oolong producing regions in a multi-year search for the best tea he could find. Rather than finding only one that checked all his boxes, he found three, each with its own unique character. He blended them together and processed them using his extensive knowledge of hong cha and oolong to make a single hong cha varietal. The flavor is of sweet cherry, floral cream, warm cassia, and fresh milled wood - very reminiscent of other small leaf eastern Chinese hong cha but with a bit more body.
