Cargo Cult (貨教古樹生普洱餅, Huò Jiào Gǔ Shù Shēng Pǔ'ěr Bǐng, “Merchandise Religion Ancient Tree Sheng Pu‘er Bing") - This 200g bing of ancient tree Nannuo Mountain Sheng Pu'er is a legacy tea from the pre-fire days of Li Shulin's tea production. It fell through the cracks of being described and photographed and never got put up for sale in a general sense (although we sold a bunch of them in-store). As a result we have a small cache of these 5-year-old, pure ancient tree Nannuo Mountain bings for sale.
While most of our ancient tree Sheng is in the form of fresh mao cha (loose tea), Cargo Cult is pressed and has darkened and mellowed somewhat from its fresh state. A great investment in a now-extinct tea to store and age, or to enjoy right away. It retains some of the sweet, vegetal notes of a fresh Nannuo Sheng with overtones of lumber, leather, and hot wet granite developing. The Qi is strong and visceral.
