Xiang Fei (香妃, Xiāng Fēi, "Fragrant Concubine") - Another remarkable offering from our sources in Duyun, Guizhou, who also produce our Unfolding Path Cave Aged White Tea, Lychee Gummy Yellow Tea, and Guifei red tea. This is their first foray into producing oolongs, and its full name is "Xiang Fei Pine House Oolong", where Xiang Fei means "Fragrant Concubine". Processed in a low-medium oxidized style with twisted, long leaves from local Duyun tea plants, it is extraordinarily fragrant and sweet. It is extremely dynamic and ranges from a warm biscotti and pine nut phase with notes of Chinese basil to a fruity profile with notes of melon, kiwi, and orchid, closing with meringue, gooseberry, and custard. A striking example of what can be achieved when regional techniques are applied to the local terroir of different regions.
