2020 Diadem Shu Pu'er Bing (王冠熟大餅, Wang Guan Shu Da Bing, ) - is a rare pre-fire tea from Li Shulin. Li is our primary source of pu'er tea, and his home and backstock of tea were destroyed in 2021 by a fire. There were batches of his tea stored with relatives and friends, as well as in varoius warehouses and tea pressing facilities. Li only recovered this batch of tea in 2024, so a limited amount of these pre-fire Li Shulin teas are available.
This tea is a small-pile fermented tea made from Nannuo Mountain tea leaves, dry-stored in Yunnan since 2020. It is exceptionally dark and earthy, with rainy petrichor notes predominating the profile over a rich, sweet tea soup that achieves the color of soy sauce at its peak. A rare opportunity to taste classic Nannuo Mountain tea from Li Shulin from a bygone era, and an exceptional tea in its own right, we will try to keep getting this tea until it runs out.
