Black Ant (黑螞蟻, Hēi Mǎyǐ, "Black Ant") - follows in the grand tradition of Duck Shit, Frogsong, and other Phoenix oolongs with confusing names. This is one of our new offerings from 4th generation Chaoshan tea master A Long, and we ordered it sight unseen because we'd never gotten anything from him that wasn't good and we can't resist a tea named after a bug. This rare varietal turns out to be sweet and toasty with notes of date syrup, caramel corn, plum turnover, and Texas persimmon, with notes of puffed rice and marshmallow on the cup fragrance. The qi is especially strong, somatic, and euphoric.
