These large ~30 ml cups feature the same bat and cloud motif as our Bat and Cloud Gaiwan. One gaiwan perfectly fills four of these cups. Bats are an auspicious symbol in Chinese culture because the word "bat" sounds like "fortune". For this reason, and because Austin is known as Bat City, they are also our mascot at West China Tea. We sourced these Bat and Cloud sets to celebrate this classic Chinese visual motif and offer a high grade and inexpensive tea set motif.

    Gaiwan and Cup

I'm leaving my review here for the Bat and Cloud Gaiwan as well, since it's no longer listed, though I do also own the cup. The gaiwan has truly become my best friend in tea brewing, I haven't used another vessel since I've brought it home. The cup was for my wife, both the cup and the gaiwan are beautiful and she thinks so as well, she drinks exclusively from the Bat and Cloud cup and I drink Exclusively out of my Mutton Fat Jade! Wonderful tea shop and So-Han is a great guy.
