Fat Wheel Pearl Yixing Gold Sand Crimson Clay Teapot (胖輪珠宜興金沙朱泥茶壺, Pàng Lún Zhū Yíxìng Jīnshā Zhūní Chá Hú, "Fat Wheel Pearl Yixing Gold Sand Crimson Clay Teapot") - A unique teapot with a unique name, shape, and material. Made from Jīnshā Zhūní 金沙朱泥 ("Gold Sand Crimson Clay"), an uncommon specie of Yixing Zhu Ni so named for its distinctive golden flecks, this pot has a round body and chunky, round spout and lid. In an effort to describe this unusual appearance, it has been given the amusing name "Fat Wheel Pearl" (it sounds better in Chinese). It is hand-thrown in the Chaozhou tradition by Master Chen Zhu of Xiao Zhu Xuan Studio in Chaozhou.

The clay demonstrates the high, crisp resonance characteristic of quality Yixing Zhu Ni. Due to its fat spout and large carburetor, this teapot has a very fast pour and evacuates very completely, making it extremely suitable both for teas that require a rapid drain - such as fresh sheng Pu'er and Phoenix Dancong oolongs, as well as slow-draining pressed teas.

Due to the porosity of the clay, this pot should be dedicated to a single type or category of tea. The clay will absorb the flavor and character of the tea and amplify those aspects, improving the tea after many uses.
